Auditions

Auditions will be:
April 10 from 12pm to 2pm at Chapman University, Room TBA

ABOUT THE SHOW:

Jeb and Jeremiah are the most famous silent comedians in the 1920s, but their world gets turned upside down when they are blasted through time to the year 2010.

ABOUT THE PRODUCTION:

"Jeb & Jeremiah: Alive in 2010!!!!!" originally premiered at Chapman last year and has been updated and given a professional promotion!

"Jeb & Jeremiah" is going to be a apart of the inaugural year of the Hollywood Fringe Festival which is from June 17-27. We will be performing the musical on Theatre Row in Hollywood at the Hudson Theaters for three performances. This is a great opportunity for graduating Theatre majors as this will be advertised to agencies seeking individuals for representation. It will also be advertised all throughout the LA theatre scene and we anticipate a captive audience.

This is a very heavy music production. Over a half hour of music has been added from last year's production, and rehearsals will be fast and few. Therefore, a strong voice and a sharp mind are a must must MUST.

FOR THE AUDITION:

Please prepare a short song to be sung a capella. We're looking for show tunes, not pop songs. There will also be a cold reading. Each audition should last five minutes, and you show up at any time. A room will be announced as we get closer to the auditions.

We need 8 actors for this show: 5m., 3f. There are 2 male leads, and 1 female lead, plus a small chorus. Every single character sings, every single person will have at least a small solo, so you must be able to sing. Can not stress this enough.

Because this is a FRINGE festival, there will be no sets and little production value. We will only have a handful of rehearsals before the performance (about one a week) so you must be a quick learner. CDs will be provided on the first day to aid you in learning your music, and the entire show will be blocked by the second rehearsal.

REHEARSAL INFORMATION:

For the remainder of the semester, there will only be one rehearsal a week, either on a Friday, Saturday or Tuesday afternoon, depending on what everybody's schedule is. Starting in June, rehearsals will become more frequent.

So... come join us for this AMAZING opportunity. Unless you've got something lined up already this summer, it's not going to be much better than this. If you know a Theatre major, or anybody else who might be interested, Invite them!

Also, I need a Stage Manager and a Choreographer. Please e-mail me at david.janove@gmail.com if you are interested.

NOTE: This is NOT a Chapman production. This is an independent production. This production is for Non-Union actors only. Do not audition if you are in SAG, AFTRA, or are Equity.
